The Ultimate Guide to Packing for a Utah Wellness Retreat

At Movara, we believe transformation begins the moment you decide to take time for yourself. Whether it’s your first visit or a return to reconnect with your goals, proper prep, planning and packing will make the process smooth!

🌤 What to Expect from the Weather

Southern Utah features a dry, sunny climate with over 300 days of sunshine per year. Expect mornings and evenings to be cooler, with warmer days. The air is dry year-round. Staying hydrated and moisturizing is essential. Lightweight layers for clothing are key.

👟 Activewear: Function Over Fashion

At Movara, you’ll be moving every day — hiking, strength training, cardio, pool classes, and stretching. Bring comfortable, moisture-wicking activewear you can layer.

Recommended activewear items:

  • 4–5 pairs of workout tops and bottoms

  • Breathable socks (lots of them!)

  • Supportive athletic shoes (already broken in)

  • Hiking shoes or trail runners

  • Lightweight jacket or fleece for mornings

  • Coat, Rain jacket or windbreaker (seasonal)

🧘‍♀️ Wellness & Relaxation Essentials

Whether you're participating in guided meditation, massage, or enjoying quiet time, comfort matters.

Don't forget:

  • Comfortable loungewear

  • Swimsuit (for pool + spa use)

  • Water shoes or flip-flops

  • Reusable water bottle (hydration is key!) - Movara will also provide you a refillable bottle

  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat

  • Journal or notebook (great for personal reflection)

🧳 Daily Life Basics

You’ll spend most of your day in workout gear, but having a few casual outfits for dinner or evening can be helpful.

We recommend:

  • 1–2 casual outfits

  • Light pajamas or sleepwear

  • Toiletries (though we provide basic amenities)

  • Laundry bag (onsite laundry available)

  • Any prescribed medications or supplements

Pro Tip: We provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hairdryers — so no need to pack those unless you have personal preferences.

🧠 Helpful Extras

  • Hiking poles (optional, but useful for moderate hikes)

  • Daypack or small backpack

  • A good book or Kindle for downtime

  • Fitness tracker or smartwatch (if you like to monitor your progress)

  • Headphones for journaling, stretching, or personal reflection

💡 Packing Mindfully

Remember: this retreat is about you — your health, your mindset, your movement, and your growth. You don’t need to overpack or impress. Come as you are. We’ll meet you there, ready to support your journey.
