6:30 Morning Stretch
The sunlight peeking over the mountains and into the window of your suite will rouse you out of your deep and restful night’s sleep, ready for the day ahead. You will begin with a series of invigorating stretches that will prepare your body for a day of prioritizing you. These stretches tell your muscles they’ll be working today, and makes sure they’re ready for anything that comes.
7:00 Breakfast
You enter the dining room and a server appears at your table, ready to take your order. Will you have the decadent Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie, or the perfectly prepared scrambled eggs? Maybe a bowl of our Famous Movara Homemade Granola. Whatever nutrient-rich meal you choose, a serving fresh fruit is always included. This is the fuel that will get you through the day, and it tastes incredible!
8:00 Hike
After breakfast you’ll hop into a Movara van and head out for your hike, taking in the gorgeous vistas of Southern Utah. The hikes vary in terrain, elevation, and difficulty, but will always be precisely tailored to your skills and abilities. Once you hit the trail with your group, the sweet fresh air filling your lungs, you’ll take your first step on a lifelong journey.
11:30 Lecture
Back at the resort, you enter the lecture hall and find a seat near the front. Today you’ve come to hear an engaging lecture on Understanding Habits, and looking forward to the topics on the agenda the rest of the week. The one-hour session flies by, and you exit the hall with new and meaningful insights about yourself and your relationship with food that you look forward to exploring further. If you’re booked at Movara for multiple weeks, perhaps you’ll do a fitness class instead during this time before lunch.
12:30 Lunch
Another trip to the dining room to recharge with a mouth-watering, nutrient-dense lunch. The server brings the soup first, maybe the Carrot Coconut Ginger, or French Onion. Everything is freshly prepared using locally sourced and organic ingredients whenever possible. The soup course is followed by a hearty main course. Will today be the vegetable-filled Buddha Bowl, the crispy Baja Fish Tacos, or maybe the grass-fed Grilled Steak Pita? Whatever you’re served, it’s going to sustain you for the rest of your afternoon.
1:15 Lecture/Cooking Demo
Feeling full and satisfied after lunch, you’ll pop back into the lecture hall for the Stress Resilience lecture, and learn about how to use stress for your benefit. Or, perhaps you’ll sit in on a cooking demo with our Executive Chef, who will teach you the skills to succeed after your time at Movara is through. After that breakfast and lunch, you’ll definitely want to know how the Chef is able to make healthy eating so rich and flavourful.
2:30 Cardio Fitness Class
You’re starting to feel that it’s time to get that body moving again, so you step into our Court for a boxing fitness class. Strap on the gloves and see what an exhilarating cardio workout boxing can be! Perhaps today is Boot Camp class — and you’re surprised at the compassion and support your trainer provides… nothing like what you expected from a class called “Boot Camp”. Your trainer will challenge you, and you’ll be surprised at how much you’re able to do. It’s definitely more than you ever thought you could!
3:30 Cardio Fitness Class
It’s another fitness class, but you’re more than ready for it. You look around the state-of-the-art gym and know you’re not going to be bored for the next 45-minutes as you move through a variety of exercises one after the other. It’s circuit training the Movara way, raising your heart rate and strengthening those muscles. By the time you’re done, you may be a little out of breath, but you won’t be able to stop smiling.
4:30 Pool or Stretch
The sun sparkles off the surface of the pool as you slide into the water, and feel instantly refreshed. This fun and unique fitness class has you building muscle while you move your body through the water. Or maybe instead of the aqua class, what you feel like right before Dinner is a revitalizing Yoga stretch to work out those sore muscles after an energizing day.
5:30 Dinner
Breakfast and lunch were incredible, but dinner feels like a well-earned reward after a day of fitness. Tonight the main course is grass-fed Filet Mignon, but tomorrow you’re looking forward to the Orange Honey-Glazed Salmon, and the day after that a few slices of delicious BBQ Chicken Pizza. Dinner at Movara always comes with a delectable dessert, and you’re not sure if you would prefer the Chocolate Ganache Truffle tonight, or the Bananas Foster Flambé?
6:15 Spa
After dinner the rest of the evening is yours to enjoy. It’s the perfect opportunity to visit the Spa and complete your recovery after a challenging but rewarding day of prioritizing yourself. A deep tissue massage sounds perfect right about now! And why not treat yourself and grab a skin-nourishing facial or body wrap, too?

Fitness Classes

Join our classes lead by some of the best fitness trainers in the industry to help you burn calories, lose weight, and build yourself.

Morning Stretch

30 Minute Stretch class designed to increase circulation and wake up our bodies and muscles in preparation of the hike and day. You will need your mat and strap, but the class may also use foam rollers and other implements.

Yoga Stretch

Restorative flexibility and stretching using traditionally yoga-based stretch postures.

Stretch

Restorative flexibility class using static stretching and light dynamic or ballistic stretching. May include stretch-assisting implements like yoga strap, blocks, and foam rollers.

Mobility

Mobility is the practical application of flexibility (the body’s joints’ range of motion). Mobility focuses on combining range of motion with balance, coordination, stability. We also address and the issues with muscle balance and focus on corrective movement strategies and practices bringing the body into balance. This class uses foam rollers, lacrosse balls, straps, and blocks.

Mountain

Mobility is the practical application of flexibility (the body’s joints’ range of motion). Mobility focuses on combining range of motion with balance, coordination, stability. We also address and the issues with muscle balance and focus on corrective movement strategies and practices bringing the body into balance. This class uses foam rollers, lacrosse balls, straps, and blocks.

Cardio Intervals

Select the cardio machine of your choice. Cardio Intervals increases aerobic conditioning and cardio-pulmonary efficiency by increasing intensity/heart rate through a series of specifically timed intervals at varying speeds and/or resistance levels.

Treading

Select the cardio machine of your choice. Initially designed as a treadmill specific workout, but can be adapted to any cardio machine. Treading increases aerobic conditioning and cardio-pulmonary efficiency by increasing intensity/heart rate through a series of specifically timed intervals at varying speeds and/or resistance levels.

Cinco Speed

Select the cardio machine of your choice. Initially designed as a treadmill specific workout, but can be adapted to any cardio machine. Treading increases aerobic conditioning and cardio-pulmonary efficiency by increasing intensity/heart rate through a series of specifically timed intervals at varying speeds and/or resistance levels.

Pool Classes

Each pool class varies based on the instructor teaching the class. Pool classes use equipment like aqua-bells, noodles, and body weight to increase heart rate, build muscle, increase joint range of motion, and burning calories in a low-impact environment. Work in the pool is a popular alternative activity for many guests with significant joint pain and movement limitations.

Amrap

AMRAP is an acronym that stands for “As Many Rounds/Reps As Possible” In this format, each guest will work for the same amount of time completing as much work/exercise as possible, ensuring a great muscle building and calorie burning workout regardless of current fitness level. The format changes weekly but includes total-body functional movements using varying equipment like dumbbells, medicine balls, weight bars, fitness balls, bands etc.

Bootcamp

“Bootcamp” traditionally focuses on higher-rep, lower-weight, or bodyweight functional movements. Because the focus is on increased reps, muscle fatigue and “burn” requires the workout to be as much mental as it is physical.

Body Blast

Body-Blast format changes each week but is a total-body workout that uses a number of different pieces of equipment, isolating individual muscle groups to assist each of us to see where are strengths and weaknesses are, as well as any imbalances.

TRX

Suspension training class that is guaranteed to challenge anyone who participates. Suspension training takes traditionally “closed-chain”/ more stable exercises, and makes them “open chain” exercises that require the body to stabilize itself through the exercises range of motion. Each exercise can me altered making it more difficult or easier simply by changing the angle of the body.

Circuit

Circuit has been the foundational fitness class at Movara since the beginning. It’s a strength/cardio hybrid format. Each guest will be coached through a series of two-minute working sets alternating between cardio machines and pin selected weight machines.

Pilates

Mat based Pilates focuses on strength, stability, posture, proper breath control and flexibility. Each class will work to balance all muscle groups' strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. Classes will be taught using slow, controlled movements. Movara also has small group

Core

Strength based class combining isometric and small controlled movements that isolate the core musculature with an emphasis on breathing to control blood pressure hikes.

Hip Hop

Dance based cardio class designed for fun while burning calories and increasing motor control, balance and coordination; set to contemporary hip hop and pop music.

Zumba

Dance based cardio class designed for fun while burning calories and increasing motor control, balance and coordination; set to contemporary hip hop and pop music.

Barre

Barre is a progressively rigorous workout that blends elements from different exercise styles including ballet, pilates, and yoga. ... Movara’s barre class welcome first-timers as well as seasoned practitioners. Get ready to feel muscles you didn’t know you had and have never felt before.

Last Blast

Last Blast is offered once a week as the last class on the weekly schedule. It is a 90-minute class divided into three consecutive 30 minute blocks. The first 30 minutes is in the gym focusing on primarily cardio training. The second 30 minutes is in the court focusing on strength, and the final 30 is flexibility work. Whether a guest is staying over or heading home, there’s no better way to head into the weekend!

Our guests are invited on daily hikes, in a place famous for its hikes and scenery. Our hiking program is unmatched, and taking in the fresh outdoors is a magical way to begin each day. Our resort is located in the high desert of Southern Utah, offering hikes in the spectacular red rock of Snow Canyon State Park and the surrounding areas. Hikes offered are structured to accommodate all guests, regardless of ability. These outdoor adventures play an important and memorable role in your time at the resort. The varied landscape around our resort offers a splendid array of amazing trail options for terrain, cardio intensity, and experience level – but all feature breathtakingly stunning scenery that is a reward in itself.

This lecture focuses on helping each of us understand how to utilize our emotions and relationships in a way that supports our physical wellness and healing. Emotional connection is one of the greatest gifts that we have in this life and this lecture helps us maximize our relationship with ourselves and others.

Mindfulness

learning how to live in the present moment is one of the ancient arts of many enlightened cultures; this lecture examines how mindfulness can support our overall wellness; in addition, guests will be guided through various mindfulness and breathing techniques.

Stress Management

Stress is often seen as a bad word and comes with a host of ailments and challenges often associated with the negative effects of stress. This lecture will teach guests how to use stress for your benefit and lead your best life through an empowering approach to stress.

Life Balance

This lecture is an experiential activity in which guests engage in a process of examining their current life roles, activities, and boundaries; through this exploration, guests are encouraged to re-examine how they can structure their lives from an internal place leading to greater personal satisfaction and alignment with life in general.

Nutrient Density vs Calorie Density

In this lecture we go deeper with nutrition, discussing how to rebalance our bodies and truly feed our metabolism. We dispel the myth of needing to starve ourselves to achieve sustained and healthy weight loss. Learning that when our body has the nutrition (information) it needs, we not only regain health and vitality, but we also naturally return to our optimal weight.

Macros and Labels

As we learn how different foods effect our bodies and give it different information, in this class we discover how to create our individual balance and create a template to meet our goals of health and weight loss. We discuss further what Macro Nutrients are and how they affect our weight loss goals. In addition how we learn how to look at nutrition labels to ensure our food choices match our goals.

The Plate Method

In this class we learn how we are able to create meals at Movara that make us feel so full and satisfied. We discuss how we can active certain receptors to achieve this same result at home! The plate method pulls all of this knowledge together in an easy to understand process that guests can take home and incorporate into every day life.

Nutritional Imbalances

What is my body telling me? In this discussion we learn to pay attention to what is out of balance in our body and how we can support it and re-establish homeostasis with nutrition. This allows us to achieve faster better results with health and weight loss. By learning to pay attention to our body and the symptoms we experience day-to-day, we become our own “expert” on know how to support our heath and vitality and overall function of our body.

Mini Habits: A Small Tool for Big Success

Habits happen - whether by default or by design -- and learning how to form positive habits is a learnable skill. In this talk, you'll learn everything you need to start making measurable change in your eating, exercise, and wellness habits. You'll learn how to use proven methods like "habit stacking," how to break bad habits using "friction," how motivation often follows action (rather than preceding it), how to create tracking systems to keep you accountable, and how shrinking your habits may just be the solution you've been looking for to help you lock in your exercise and eating routines. Self care is one of the most important things you can do to perform at your best, become physically fit, and kickstart the healing systems of the body. Your brain needs breaks throughout the day just like your body. With our work demands getting faster and faster, brain science has now shown that the key to our most healthy, productive, and happiest selves isn't working harder, it's working smarter. In this presentation, you'll learn why scientists are advising you to take a nap in the afternoon, why you should schedule breaks throughout your day to "recharge" your focus, and how exercise and time in nature can have deep restorative effects on the body and brain. The science of micro-breaks has shown that getting more done isn't about managing time better, but about managing energy better.

The Power of Positive Emotions

Negativity comes naturally but positivity takes work. The brain, for all of its strengths, is often pulled toward the negative. Our brains tend to pay more attention to, believe, and filter in more negative information than positive information -- something scientists call the “negativity bias.” In this talk, you'll learn how to cultivate positivity and learn how positive emotions have a number of physical and mental benefits, including reducing inflammation, lowering stress, and increasing creativity. This talk will help you learn the tools and skills to get in the habit of focusing on the things that went well in your day instead of focusing on the things that didn't.

Building Stress Resilience

This talk will unpack the brain science of stress and give you the tools you need to reduce worry, conquer anxiety, and take actions that will help you manage uncertainty. Chronic stress is directly related to weight gain and puts us at increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, faster aging, and even cancer. Whether you need help to stop your mind racing at night or want to get better at not letting little things upset you, this talk will teach you how to work with your brain rather than against it to unlock a calm, centered, connected new you. Calm can become your new normal, but it takes brain training to get there.
