One Little Word

Here we are, a month into the new year. This is about the time where people start feeling overwhelmed by their resolutions or maybe have just forgotten about them. While we support anyone wanting to improve their situation and enjoy seeing our guests achieve their health and wellness goals, we also know that long-term results are a result of realistic and sustainable goals.

I’ve written and posted many articles over the past few weeks regarding resolutions. (You can read them here, here, here and here). There’s a lot to be said for making them, but we all need to decide what inspires and what exhausts us.  Also, we need to realize that making changes can happen anytime of the year, and slow and steady wins the race.

Anyway, for those of you who want an alternative to resolutions, there is a trend of “One Little Word” where you set an intention for the year by choosing one word to describe what you would like to work toward.

As an example, my word for 2016 is FOCUS. This year, I want to focus on what truly matters even more diligently than I?ve previously done. I have that word etched in my mind and it has helped guide my choices, the way I spend my time and made me cautious of what I give my attention and energy to.

Some other ideas related to health and wellness:  Trust, Confidence, Courage (that was my word for 2015!), Hope, Peace, Dedication, Determination, Resiliency, Mindfulness, Balance, Simplify…

What is your word for the year?  We would love to hear from you!
