New Chip Substitution

Last night while shopping at Whole Foods, I happened upon a new crunchy, savory snack – Lundberg’s Tamari with Seaweed Organic Rice Cakes. Each large rice cake is sixty calories, with zero fat grams, one gram of protein and only seventy-five milligrams of sodium. There are only a few ingredients (organic whole grain brown rice, organic tamari, organic brown rice syrup, organic nori flakes, sea salt) and all hail from nature rather than a factory. These tasty rice cakes are an awesome solution to satisfy that craving for a savory chip at any time of the day!

They travel well, so these cakes are a good emergency food to have in the car or bring along with you as a popcorn replacement at the movie theater. Lundberg’s has many other flavors to try all with similar nutrition content click here to check them out. To make them more of a hearty snack or part of your meal try them along with some of the following foods: cottage cheese, Laughing Cow Lite cheese wedges, pico de gallo, tuna, almond butter, peanut butter, ricotta cheese or greek yogurt and fruit, sardines or some boxed low sodium roasted red pepper and tomato soup.
