I wrote this post (click the link) last year. But if I had a penny for every time I heard…”what do you think of the HCG diet”…well, I would have a lot of pennies. So when I ran across the article below, I thought I would do an update.

Rachel recently wrote an excellent blog post (click the link) on healthy eating tips and how to spot a fad diet. There is nothing magical about a diet. If you are losing weight, you are eating less calories then you need. In some way, following this diet has helped you cut calories. But what if you could do that in a healthy, sustainable way instead of obsessing about restriction? It is so important to remember that any change you make to lose weight needs to be something you can do everyday in order to maintain that weight loss. HCG shots are not something you can do everyday, nor are they even a healthy way to lose weight.
Any diet that tells you to limit any fruits or vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, healthy fats or exercise should be a red flag. Remember, there are a lot of ways to lose weight but only one healthy one. Eat less and move more.
