Greek Yogurt Boosts!

So, you’ve heard that plain Greek yogurt is good for you but you just can’t get over that plain flavor! Experiment in your kitchen; I mean, what’s the worst that can happen. . . you toss a couple before you get the right combo?

To start, try a few of these combinations mixed with 6-8 ounces of yogurt for an under 200 calorie snack.
• ½ teaspoon vanilla, ½ cup peaches (1 small peach thinly sliced) and a dash of cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon natural peanut butter
• 1 tablespoon honey, 2 tablespoons sliced raw almonds
• ½ teaspoon vanilla, ½ cup berries (can mash them to release more juice)
• 1 tablespoon honey, ¼ cup pureed cucumber
• ½ tablespoon cocoa powder, 1 packet Stevia or 1 tablespoon honey
• Like spice? Can also use jalapenos or Tabasco to kick it up a notch

Why go Greek? For 6 ounces of fat-free or low-fat yogurt, you get around 100 calories and 18 grams of protein. The high protein content will keep you feeling full longer and the plain version allows you to create as many flavors as you’d like. With very little processing and endless possibilities, it’s a perfect snack!
