Not a week goes by that I am not asked about cravings and how to deal with them. I found this great article written by a few well-known dietitians that explain why we have cravings and the science behind them. Most importantly, the article discusses how to deal with cravings and how to splurge without it getting in the way of your weight loss goals.

We talk about a few of these principles at the spa; making peace with food, scheduling splurges (90/10 rule!), getting rid of the diet mentality, snacking smarter and waiting it out. Ultimately, telling yourself you can never give into cravings will lead to an intense preoccupation and unhealthy relationship with food. I hope that the things we talk about in class and this article can help you on your road to healthy eating!
