Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. People who don’t eat breakfast are 4.5 times more likely to be overweight than those who do. Also, we find that the nutrients missed by not eating breakfast are not made up for throughout the day. Breakfast is the perfect opportunity to eat calcium rich foods, lean proteins, whole grains and fruit.

I found an interesting slide show showing 5 Breakfasts That Will Keep You Full Until Lunch. All five of them incorporate the principles of volume eating we discussed in class. They utilize high volume, low calorie foods and are balanced in terms of carbohydrates, protein and fat. They are also more substantial than some of you may be used to. I am a HUGE believer in a large breakfast and a smaller dinner. What do you think of these breakfasts? Which of the five would you choose? Do you find larger breakfasts to be helpful?  How so?
