Belated Valentine’s Sweet Tooth

Below are a few lower calorie solutions to help steer you clear away from the left over Valentine’s Day candy.

~Yogi mayan cocoa spice tea (zero calorie hot chocolate!)

~Hot chocolate made with 1 cup of almond milk, 1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder and 1 packet of truvia

~Decaffeinated candy cane green tea from Trader Joe’s (tastes like a thin mint!)

~Organic Apple Butter Spread (only 20 calories/srvg. & 4 g sugar!)on an Orowheat sandwich thin

~Healthy choice creamy fudgecicle bar

~Home-made creamsicle smoothie/popsicles made with fresh orange juice, almond milk, nonfat yogurt and vanilla extract

~Fresh berry bowl with a dollup of fat-free whipped cream on top

~Apple cinnamon yogurt cup – low fat vanilla yogurt mixed with chopped up apple, cinnamon, nutmeg and unsweetened cocoa powder

~Grilled pears on the barbeque or baked apples in the oven with cinnamon, all spice, cloves and ginger

~Chocolate oats – heat up minute oatmeal with water then add to it 1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder, strawberries and stevia

~Air-popped popcorn with spray oil and cinnamon, nutmeg and stevia or 100 calorie microwaveable kettle corn

~Original Quaker rice cake or Lundberg’s brown rice cake with nonfat cream cheese and fresh fruit or 1 serving of fruit preserves

~Sliced apple with reduced-fat ricotta cheese and cinnamon
